It’s one of the best ways to prevent cervical cancer.

- Most women think it’s painless
- It’s usually done by a female nurse and you can request this.

Cervical screening saves lives
Getting your smear test (cervical screening) could save your life
- It is offered to women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 64 years old
- If you are eligible, you will be invited every 3 years until you are 49, and then every 5 years from the age of 50 to 64
Your GP practice can guide you through what happens at a cervical screening appointment.
When you get your invite, book your appointment through the NHS App or contact your GP practice
